How do I draw a floor plan?
Imagine yourself viewing the room from a bird’s eye/ top view. Draw out the approximate perimeter shape of your room. The accuracy of the drawing is not as important as the measurements. Start in a corner and measure the complete wall. Then, go back and notate where windows and doors, and any other features are (fireplace, built in cabinetry, etc). Measure each wall around the room, and the height of the ceiling. Measuring tools like this one, or apps like this can be very helpful. It is also important to include locations of electrical outlets, cable hookups, phone lines or any other “permanent” fixture location. Please also include the ceiling height. Being detailed is VERY important as these dimensions are what your designer will base their entire design around.
How do I photograph my room?
Start photographing standing in one corner of the room photographing out into the middle of the room. Continue to each corner photographing out into the middle of the room. Take a photo of your ceiling, floors, and any existing furniture or accessories that you would like to keep. The more photos, the better!
What does the timeline look like for getting my design?
After you select and purchase a service, you will immediately receive a confirmation email letting you know that your designer will reach out within two business days. Your project will be sent to you in two phases, allowing feedback from you along the way. We estimate that projects will take 2 - 3 weeks.
What happens if I don't like the designs and/or selections that my designer created?
Client satisfaction is our number one priority, and we want you to be as excited about your design as we are! Your Designer will create one secondary Phase 1 design if you are unhappy with the original concept boards and/ or floor plans.
Where do you source the furnishings from?
Our designers source our products from a wide range of to-the-trade vendors. With our complimentary purchasing service you will receive the best pricing available on the selections. In fact, if you find it online for less we will price match to any valid source. Furniture and accessory deliveries only available in the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area.
What is a personal shopping portal?
When your furnishing selections are made, they will be shared with you through an online shopping portal. A unique link, only accessible to you, will make purchasing your designer’s selections simple and efficient. Our Shop Specialist will coordinate delivery of all items for you. By utilizing this feature, you will have access to over 200 sellers that have been expertly selected for unique and high quality offerings.
Furniture and accessory deliveries are only available in the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area.
Can you design more than one room of my house?
Yes, we'd love to! You can simply purchase an additional service, or talk to your Designer about other available options.
